Mold Testing

Mold spores will be found floating through the air and in house dust. The mold spores will not grow if moisture is not present. Indoor mold growth can and should be prevented or controlled by controlling moisture indoors. Moisture is the main cause of mold growth.

Tape sampling is the most common technique used to test surfaces for mold during a mold inspection. It provides valuable information. The species of mold, the relative degree of contamination, and the potential for airborne spore production may all be determined by tape sampling.

Most types of mold only need moisture, a food source, and a dark environment to grow.

Example of mold

To get rid of mold, find what is causing the mold growth such as moisture problems and fix it. Also, clean up the mold up to its roots by using soap and water or other natural solutions like vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda. We do not recommend using bleach to kill mold. If the infestation is widespread, call a professional.
