Spring is just around the corner, so planning for your home's upcoming needs starts now. The exterior of your home has been through winter conditions that can damage your home.

  • Look at your roof carefully from all angles, use a pair of binoculars to get a good view of the shingles, vents, and flashing. If you see anything unusual, contact a roofer to fully evaluate your roof to ensure that you don't get any moisture damage from the upcoming springtime rains.

  • Look at the wooden trim and windows for moisture damage. Just small cracks between the seams can lead to moisture damage. If noted, it may be time to re-caulk these areas and repaint. Paint now because paint is much less expensive than replacing your trim and siding.

  • If you have a fireplace, look at the brick and the rain cap to be sure that the mortar and the rain cap are in place.

  • Your garage door gets daily use and should have preventative maintenance performed to ensure proper use and for safety.

  • The temperatures will soon be rising, and your air conditioner will need to be serviced so it will be ready for the heat to come this summer.

  • Other things that may need to be considered are pressure washing your concrete driveway, sidewalks, and patios. A professional should thoroughly inspect your wooden decks. They may also need proper cleaning and resealing to extend the life of your wood deck.

  • One more thing. Don't forget to see if you have enough propane for your gas grill.
